EUROPEAN SPORTS WEEK FOR DEAFBLIND PEOPLE 2015 (ESW 2015)
MOSCOW, RUSSIA – AUGUST 9-14, 2015

We are happy to invite you to participate in the European Sports Week for deafblind people 2015.
For the convenience of the guests the Sports Week will be held straight after the European Rehabilitation and Cultural Week at Areal Congress Hotel (4*). The competitions will start on August 10, 2015.
Location: Russia, Moscow and the Moscow region
Dates: August 9-14, 2015.
Organizers: Deaf-Blind Support Fund “Con-nection”, All-Russia Association of the Blind (VOS), Association for the Social Support of the Deaf-Blind “Elvira”
Location
Areal Congress Hotel (4*) located close to Moscow in the eastern part of the Moscow region.
Accommodation is available in the form of single and double rooms. Each room has a bathroom equipped with the shower unit.
Each room has a wardrobe, a working desk, a TV-set, safe box (large enough to keep the laptop computer), a hair dryer, a minibar, and slippers. The rooms are air-conditioned and have Internet connection.
Breakfasts and dinners are available in the “Taler” restaurant with the self-service buffet. There is also the “Schnitzel” restaurant, the “Courchevel” bar, and the 24-hour lobby bar.
Hotel guests can attend the gym, the swimming pool with the artificial waterfall and scenic view. The size of the swimming pool is 25×10 meters. Beside swimming, guests can use the Finnish sauna, the circular douche and the Kneipp baths. The complex is open from 7 am to 11 pm. The Spa center, solarium and extended bath services are available at extra charge.
Preliminary program
In the course of the European Sports Week for deafblind people 2015 the guests will be offered to measure strength in competitions, to feel passion of contest and, maybe, to win the title!
During the Sports Week 2015 there will be championships held in the following sports:
• The 4th European Deafblind Chess Championship
• The 1st European Deafblind Russian Сheckers Championship
• The 2nd European Deafblind Backgammon Championship
• The 2nd European Deafblind Bowling Championship
• The 1st European Deafblind Tandem Bike Championship (with a leader)
• The 3rd European Deafblind Track-and-Field Athletics Championship (with or without a leader)
– 60 metres running;
– 3000 metres running;
– 200 metres racewalking;
– 2000 metres racewalking;
– Standing long jump;
– Shot put.
• The 3rd European Deafblind Arm Wrestling Championship
• The 3rd European Deafblind Darts Championship
• The 1st European Deafblind Swimming Championship
• The 1st European Deafblind Strength sports all-around Championship
Out of competition:
• Table-top games
Each deafblind person can register for participation in one or several sports competitions.
Sports competitions, master classes from sportsmen, and meeting with a world sports star await the participants in the course of the Sports Week.
Registration fee
The registration fee for participation in the European Sports Week for Deafblind people 2015 is 100 euro per day (double room) or 150 euro per day (single room) for one person. The fee includes accommodation, meals, and the sports program.
Please note that these are daily participation fee rates! Total registration fee depends on the number of days you plan to stay at the European Sports Week.
The fee should be paid for each participant –for deafblind persons who take part in sports competitions, for deafblind persons who do not compete (spectators), and for accompanying persons/support professional that to do not compete ( including the accompanying person/support professionals/family members.
The fee should be paid by May 15, 2015.
The ESW 2015 Organizing Committee has the right to stop submission of registration forms before the initial deadline in case the number of participants goes beyond the limit established by the Organizing Committee.
The more detailed program with the specific schedule will be distributed by the second notification.
