HKWC 2018 – OUR RIGHTS, OUR VOICES, WE LEAD THE WAY

Between the 19th and 27th of June, the 5th WFDB General Assembly and the 11th Helen Keller World Conference took place in Benidorm, Spain. During those days, more than 300 Deafblind people, along with their interpreters gathered together, sharing experiences and joining forces in order to help improve the quality of life of Deafblind people around the world.

This year’s European Day of Persons with Disabilities marks the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). This has been the focus of the 2-day conference organised by the European Commission and EDF on 29-30 November 2016.

THE EDbU JOINED A GLOBAL CAMPAIGN THAT SEEKS TO PROMOTE GENDER PARITY IN INTERNATIONAL TRIBUNALS AND MONITORING BODIES

Sanja Tarczay, Ph.D., the president of the EDbU, has joined the IDA, International Disability and Development Consortium and GQUAL in calling for action to promote gender parity within the CRPD Committee, all treaty bodies and international and regional organisations!
