The European Deafblind Union is saddened by the loss of Mr Seppo Olavi Jurvanen, Vice president of the EDbU and the memorable president of the Finnish Deafblind Association.
The deafblind community both in Finland and internationally, have lost a lifelong friend and fellow advocate of people with deafblindness. A part of Seppo Olavi Jurvanen’s work as president of FDBA we will remember him as an excellent and competent EDbU’s Vicepresident and representative for EDbU in the different international events.
The EDbU is honoured and blessed to have known him. Seppo was surely loved and respected by all of us as a true friend and an excellent hardworking colleague that strongly contributed to the achievements we have made so far.
Seppo’s insights, humour and smile are a permanent part of the EdbU. Someone so special can never be forgotten and he will be cherished in our memories forever.
May he rest in peace!
